* Introduction to the Summer Institute.
* Computer basics using word processing software.
* Organizing computer work - where are you going to put stuff, so that you can find it again easily?
* Accessible technology check-up –Assessment of where you are with AT,
* Internet Basics and beyond – Got E-mail addresses? G-mail account set-up (for all who need a connection).
Refreshments during break
Internet start-up
* How to get to anywhere on the WWW.
To whom it may concern…
* Mapping self-advocacy resource connections. Students will be invited to E-mail their campus disability services office. They will identify and learn how to connect to essential government and NGO service providers.
Wednesday
Browsing the Internet in earnest
* Browsing sites,
* Research with Google.

Week 2
Power Tools
* Beginning PowerPoint.
* Creating PowerPoint presentations.
* Integrating Internet resources into PowerPoint.

Week 3
Cyberforce Compendium
* Students will use their newly developed skills to demonstrate how-to create powerful PowerPoint presentations.
* Individual PowerPoint projects will commence.

Week 4
Break
Laboratory is open during break. Technical assistance is available during laboratory hours.
 
Week 5
Monday
* Summer Institute presents…
Students PowerPoint productions.
* A guest panel of experts will review presentations, provide tips for success and assist students in strengthening their presentation skills.
Wednesday
Info-share
* Gadgets and wizardry give-a-way day.

Week 6
Finding everything at the Library
* Guest Librarian reveals the strategies that enable access to all the library materials in the CUNY system.

Week 7
Concepts, columns and rows
* Using Excel to manage money and other matters.

Week 8
Putting it together
* Repackaging the skills learned during the Summer Institute into strategic tools for future mobility

Compile self-advocating personal strategic plan
